Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) has urged White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients to request a cognitive test for President Biden due to concerns about his mental fitness. The call for the test follows reports from the Wall Street Journal that have raised questions about the President’s cognitive abilities. According to the report, interviews with both Republicans and Democrats suggest that Biden may not be mentally fit to perform his duties as President.

In his letter to Zients, Carter, who has experience as a consultant pharmacist, draws on his expertise to highlight signs of cognitive decline that he has observed in patients. He notes that the President’s behavior aligns with what he has seen in individuals experiencing mental decline and forgetfulness. Carter expresses concern that the President’s mental state could be creating a leadership vacuum that compromises the competence required for the role.

Carter calls for the President to undergo a cognitive test immediately and share the results with the public. He emphasizes the importance of transparency in assessing the mental and intellectual health of the President to reassure the American people about their safety and security. Carter’s letter aims to address growing concerns about Biden’s mental state and provide clarity for the public.
