Early Sunday morning, a fire broke out at the building housing the Butler County Health Department and Butler County EMA office in Greenville, Alabama. Crews quickly responded to the scene on Airport Road in Greenville at approximately 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, the building was completely consumed by flames. Despite efforts to extinguish the fire, the building was ultimately declared a total loss.

Fortunately, no one was inside the building at the time of the fire, and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though authorities have ruled out arson as a possible cause.

In response to the fire, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) is currently working to secure a temporary location to provide health services to the residents of Butler County. In the meantime, residents are advised to seek health services from the Crenshaw County Health Department or other nearby locations. The ADPH website contains contact information and operating hours for all county health department locations for reference.
