The Samsung Galaxy Ring is set to be fully unveiled on July 10, after being teased back in January. Screenshots of the smart ring’s health-tracking capabilities have been leaked online, courtesy of Android Authority. These screenshots were taken from a deep dive into the code for the Samsung Health app for Android, which has been added to the app but is not yet enabled for users. The images show the Galaxy Ring’s ability to measure heart rate, stress levels, predict periods, take skin temperature readings, and even detect snoring when paired with an Android phone.
Comparing the health-tracking features of the Galaxy Ring to the Galaxy Watch 6 and potentially the Galaxy Watch 7, it seems that the functionality will be similar, but in a lighter and potentially more comfortable form factor. Consumers may have to choose between a smart ring and a smartwatch, as both offer different features and benefits. Smartwatches provide more features with their dedicated displays, while smart rings are more compact and lightweight, making them suitable for activities like sleep tracking or high-intensity workouts.
While some have had hands-on experience with the Galaxy Ring, more details are expected to be revealed at the next Samsung Unpacked event on July 10. This event is anticipated to showcase new foldable phones, smartwatches, and hopefully more information about the Galaxy Ring.
