In October, the Tribune Chronicle is once again seeking to honor breast cancer survivors by sharing their stories. The goal is to humanize the disease and provide support to those who have been diagnosed by sharing the experiences of those who have gone through this journey. Additionally, the Tribune Chronicle aims to highlight the treatments and support systems that have helped these survivors. The publication also pays tribute to those who have lost their lives to breast cancer. To share your own story or honor someone who has inspired you in their fight against breast cancer, please send a brief description to Features Editor Burton Cole or Metro Editor Marly Reichert. You can contact them via email or mail. Reporters from the Tribune Chronicle will be reaching out to individuals suggested for inclusion in their publications throughout October.

In Leavittsburg, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) OH 1353 holds weekly meetings at First Community Church on Mondays. Weigh-ins begin at 5:30 p.m., with the meetings starting at 6 p.m. For more information, you can contact them by phone.

The Nara Anon Family Group will be hosting a meeting in Girard on Wednesday at 7 p.m. This group was created to offer support and hope to individuals with friends or family members struggling with addiction. To learn more about this meeting, feel free to call the provided number.

If you or someone you know has been affected by a stoma, the Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the Tibbets Wick Home Care Office. The group aims to provide education, encouragement, and support to individuals whose lives have been impacted by a stoma. The business hours for Joe’s at ST. Mall, located in Eastwood Mall, are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All classes are open to St. Joe’s at the Mall members and screenings and programs are open to the public. At Joe’s at ST. Mall, free blood pressure tests are available on specific days and times, while free nutritional evaluations by a nutritionist can be scheduled on Fridays. Various events and programs are also taking place, including a Trumbull County Health Expo and a Talk to the Doctor Program focused on moles and skin cancer. The program includes lunch for a small fee. Additionally, there will be a Mercy Health Mobile His Mammography event where screening is covered by most medical insurance plans. A free class on hypertension management and a fitness walk and fall prevention class for National Senior Fitness Day will also be held.
