Helsinki Stock Exchange opens lower on Tuesday

The Helsinki Stock Exchange opened on a sunny Tuesday with a decrease of about 0.3 percent. The general index was at 10091.99 points a few minutes after opening. The most traded dozen moved in a downward direction as the stock market day opened. The most traded company around ten o’clock was the insurance group Sampo whose share was down about 0.3 percent. On the other hand, the strongest riser in the opening was a technology company Bittium with a price increase of about 2.5 percent. The largest decliner at the stock market opening was a financial company Command whose share was down about 1.2 percent.

Engineering works company Valmet has received an order for the tissue paper line for Andhra Paper Limited in the Kadiyam plant located in Andhra Pradesh, India. Founded in 1964, the company produces writing, printing and printing papers for export and domestic markets. The start-up is planned for the end of 2025. The order is included in Valmet’s orders for the second quarter of 2024. The company’s stock was down 0.3 percent a few minutes after the stock market opened.

Credit reporting company With something has decided to appoint Axel Bäcklund as the temporary manager of the Business Insight business area and he will become part of the company’s management team. Bäcklund will start his new role at the beginning of September. The company’s share was down about 0.5 percent. Investment company Holding Investment Management in Luleå has bought a total of 238,000 NYAB shares last Thursday and yesterday Monday at an average price of around EUR 0.60 per share. The total price of the purchases was 142,692 euros. The brothers’ investment company is NYAB’s largest owner. The company’s stock was down about 0.3 percent on Tuesday morning.

A health technology company Nexstim issued an unsecured convertible bond of up to 750,000 euros to improve the company’s financial position and for general working capital purposes. In the end, the loan was subscribed for a total of 650,000 euros. Solar power company Valoe’s company restructuring procedure liquidator, lawyer Pekka Jaatinen has submitted the company’s restructuring program proposal to the district court of Pohjois Savo. The goal of the restructuring program is to restore Valoe’s business and arrange the company’s debts only to the extent necessary to achieve the company’s recovery goal.

US Index futures herald a green opening on the other side of the Atlantic. The Asia Dow index was up around 1.6 percent after ten in the morning Finnish time. In Asia, the rate rise was strongest in Japan, but rates were also rising in South Korea and India.
