Horst Pinnow passes away at 87

Horst Pinnow, the Berlin actor, passed away on May 24th at the age of 87 after a brief, serious illness. Born in 1936 in Landsberg an der Warthe, which is now known as Gorzów Wielkopolski in Poland, Pinnow began his acting career in theater before moving to Berlin in 1965. He became a familiar face to children in the 1970s as “Detective Humphrey Gocart Junior” on Sesame Street and went on to star in various television series such as “Molle mit Korn” and “Die Wicherts von nebenan”.

Pinnow was part of a group of renowned Berlin TV actors including Harald Juhnke, Günter Pfitzmann, and Dieter Hallervorden. He concluded his career after appearing in Leander Haußmann’s comedy “Shark Alarm at Müggelsee” in 2013.
