IBSA Powerlifting and Benchpress World Championships to be hosted in Astana, Kazakhstan

The 2024 IBSA Powerlifting and Benchpress World Championships will be hosted in Astana, Kazakhstan from 7-14 October. Around 80 athletes from 12 countries are expected to participate in the competition, vying for world titles in various categories. Events will include total, bench press – single lift, squat, bench press – powerlifting, and deadlift.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in total, open (men and women), and to individual male and female athletes based on good lift points. The event will be hosted by the Kazakhstan Blind Sports Federation and Kazakhstan Para Powerlifting Federation.

Nezam Dodel, Chair of the IBSA Powerlifting Committee, expressed gratitude to the presidents of the hosting federations for their interest in hosting the event. He is confident that the experience of the meet director, Mr. Artur Tomitsskiy, will contribute to the success of the championships. The IBSA Powerlifting committee is dedicated to the growth and development of the sport, urging more member countries to send athletes to the prestigious World Championships.

IBSA Powerlifting has issued invitations and entry forms for the 2024 Championships, encouraging participation from athletes around the world. This event is seen as an opportunity for athletes to showcase their passion and skills on the global stage.
