IDF confirms killing of Hezbollah general and associates by liquidation

Reports from Lebanese sources have confirmed that four top Hezbollah commanders were killed in the village of Juaya, located about 7 km east of Tyre in southern Lebanon. Among those killed was Talib Sami Abdullah, also known as “Hajj Abu Talib,” who was the commander of the An-Nasr division. Abdullah held a high-ranking position within Hezbollah, overseeing the central sector from the Litani River to the Israeli border. He is considered the highest-ranking Hezbollah commander killed by the Israelis since the start of the War of Iron Swords, which began on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly targeted the building where Abdullah and his associates were located, firing three rockets that led to their deaths. In addition to Abdullah, senior Hezbollah commanders including Hussein Muhammad Hamid, Mustafa Soufan, and Muhammad Sabara were also killed in the attack. The building where the commanders were found was completely destroyed as a result of the IDF assault.

It is important to note that nearby the targeted building was the home of a Shiite member of the Lebanese Parliament, which also suffered damage from the attack. As of June 12, Hezbollah has confirmed the loss of at least 340 of its commanders and fighters during the ongoing war with Israel.
