A new rivalry seems to be budding in the hockey world, this time between Radko Gudas and Brady Tkachuk. The defenseman from the Anaheim Ducks and the forward from the Ottawa Senators faced off in a World Championship quarterfinals game that ended with Czechia defeating the United States 1-0. Both players exchanged numerous big hits during the game, leading to a scuffle in which Gudas briefly choked Tkachuk, who is Matthew Tkachuk’s brother.

In an interview with idnes.cz, Gudas mentioned that he wasn’t planning on getting into it with Tkachuk but had to respond when provoked. He explained that their physical play is a part of their game and they don’t give each other an inch. Tkachuk, on the other hand, acknowledged Gudas’ contribution to his team despite their clashes on the ice, calling him a great player. Despite their physical altercation, Gudas praised Brady as a great guy and expressed his enjoyment of playing against him.

While the two players have a mutual respect for each other, Gudas hinted at a potential violent matchup in the NHL in the future. He mentioned in an interview with sportnet.sk that they had already discussed how they would fight each other in the upcoming season. This rivalry could add another layer of excitement to the hockey world and keep fans on the edge of their seats during games between their teams.
