In U20 World Cup, England Emerges Victorious, France Suffers Defeat, and Uruguay Dominates

England and France both played in the U-20 World Cup on Monday. England beat Tunisia 1-0 thanks to Dane Scarlett’s first-half header. Tunisia had few opportunities to score, while England controlled the game. Although England played with a little nervousness, they were able to secure the win. France played South Korea and lost 2-1. South Korea scored first in the 22nd minute, with Lee Seung-won’s goal. In the second half, Lee Young’s goal extended South Korea’s lead to two points. France finally scored a penalty kick thanks to Alain Virginius, but it wasn’t enough to win.

Uruguay beat Iraq 4-0 in their match, topping Group E on goal difference. Matthias Abardo opened the scoring for Uruguay with a cross in the 38th minute, and Andrés Ferrari doubled the lead in the 48th minute with a powerful header. Uruguay scored their third goal thanks to an own goal, and Alan Maturo scored again with a header in injury time.

On Thursday, Uruguay will face England and Tunisia will face Iraq in Group E. The Gambia beat Honduras 2-1 and shares the Group F lead with South Korea. Adama Bojan scored for The Gambia in the first minute, but Marcos Acetuno drew four minutes later. Bojan finally scored the winning goal in the 84th minute. France must beat The Gambia on Thursday to keep their chances alive in Group F. South Korea will face Honduras on the same day.
