Inaugural Regional Science Bowl Held at Waste Isolation Pilot Plant

This year’s Regional Science Bowl took place at Southeast New Mexico College and featured seven teams competing for the chance to showcase their knowledge at a prestigious national academic science competition. The participating schools included Carlsbad High School, Carlsbad Early College, New Mexico Military Institute, and Hobbs High School.

The New Mexico Military Institute team, comprised of two sophomores, a junior, and a senior, emerged victorious by outperforming the other teams with their exceptional knowledge in math and science. They claimed the No. 1 title and secured their spot at the national competition scheduled for April 25-29.

The competition was intense as all teams displayed their expertise in various scientific fields. Each team showcased their understanding of complex scientific concepts and mathematical principles throughout the event. It was a challenging and rewarding experience for all participants, highlighting the importance of academic excellence in the field of science.
