After the general election, it was revealed that Prime Minister Modi’s party had lost its absolute majority in parliament, signaling a potential decrease in support from the people. Despite this, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the government for the third time, with the BJP winning 290 seats in parliament, exceeding the 272 seats needed to form a government. However, this performance was less than the party’s previous achievements.

The opposition coalition, led by the Congress party, also showed a strong performance in the election, winning more than 200 seats and denting Prime Minister Modi’s previous image of invincibility. While the BJP remains the largest party in parliament, the results raised questions about the party’s strategy and their ability to address concerns like high inflation and unemployment.

Observers noted that the election results indicated a potential shift in public sentiment against Prime Minister Modi and the BJP, particularly among economically disadvantaged groups and minority communities. The BJP’s Hindutva ideology, promoting Hindu nationalism, has also sparked anti-Muslim sentiment in the country.

Despite these challenges, Prime Minister Modi remains popular across India, but his opponents see the election results as a victory for democracy. The outcome has led to discussions about the future direction of the country and the need for strong opposition voices to hold the government accountable for change.
