India’s Largest IPO on the Horizon with Hyundai Offering

Hyundai Motor, a South Korean carmaker, is looking to take its Indian subsidiary public. The prospectus submitted for the IPO in Mumbai did not include specific details about the valuation or volume of the offering. However, sources familiar with the matter have suggested that Hyundai is targeting a volume of two to three billion dollars with a valuation of up to 30 billion dollars. Hyundai is currently the second largest car manufacturer in India, following Maruti Suzuki, and holds a market share of 15 percent. India is the third largest car market globally, after China and the USA.
