The Indian men’s cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is set to celebrate their T20 World Cup 2024 title win with an open bus parade and a small function at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, reminiscent of the celebrations in 2007 when MS Dhoni led the team to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup.

After being stranded in Barbados for three days due to hurricane Beryl, the victorious players finally took a specially arranged ‘Long Range’ Air India chartered aircraft to Delhi late at night. Upon their arrival in New Delhi early on Thursday, Rohit and his team are expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast before boarding a chartered flight to Mumbai.

The celebrations in Mumbai are expected to be similar to those in 2007, with an open bus parade being planned for the team to showcase their achievement to the fans. This victory marks an important milestone for Indian cricket, and the players are looking forward to basking in the glory of their success with the people of Mumbai.
