(Reuters) – Saudi Arabia coach Herve Leonard named Al-Hilal midfielder Salman Al-Falaj in his 26-man squad for the World Cup on Saturday regardless of struggling a shoulder harm in a pleasant.
Al-Falaj, the nationwide group captain, took off at half-time in Saudi Arabia’s 1-0 victory over Iceland, however Leonard stated he was match for the event.
“As for Salman, like all Saudi followers, we have been scared when he collapsed and couldn’t proceed the match. , will probably be high quality in a couple of days,” the French coach stated in a video posted on Twitter by the Saudi group on Wednesday.
Leonard has referred to as up two goalkeepers, Mohammed Al-Owais and Nawaf Al-Aqidi, however they don’t seem to be first-choices for Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr respectively. Third keeper, Mohamed Al-Yami, will play in his Al-Ahly within the second tier.
Saudi Arabia will play in Qatar’s Group C alongside Argentina, Mexico and Poland.
