Innovative 4D Radar Safety Technology Revealed for School Buses by Osceola County School District

At the school district press conference, speakers included Osceola School District Chair Heather Kahoun, Osceola County Commission Chair Cheryl Grieb, Paul Kim, CEO of SRS, Jae Kim, CTO of SRS, Scott Knoebel, Assistant Superintendent of School Operations for the Osceola School District, and Randy Wheeler, Director of Transportation with the Osceola School District. Smart Radar System, Inc. (SRS) is a leader in 4D radar for automotive and smart city applications on a global scale. This partnership with the Osceola School District is part of efforts by Osceola County and NeoCity Links to establish connections with Korean companies entering the U.S. market.

Osceola County is currently working on a Memorandum of Understanding with SRS to set up the company’s Regional Headquarters at NeoCity. This headquarters will serve as a hub for design, research, development, manufacturing, testing, and sales activities. The collaboration is a strategic move to enhance economic growth and innovation in the region.

The decision to implement SRS radar technology follows a tragic incident in January, where a 9-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a school bus in Orange County. The SRS radar system offers 360-degree detection capabilities to notify bus drivers if there are any objects or individuals beneath the bus. This feature aims to prevent similar accidents and prioritize the safety of students boarding and exiting school buses.
