Samsung is planning to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July, where they are expected to unveil their first smart ring – Galaxy Ring. A new report suggests that the Galaxy Ring will use a charging method similar to popular wireless earbuds, utilizing a dedicated carrying case. Leaked information reveals that the case will not only charge the ring but also serve as a storage solution to keep it safe when not in use.
The case for the Galaxy Ring may also have an additional battery inside, similar to some earbud cases, allowing users to charge the ring while on the go. However, with an estimated battery life of up to nine days on a single charge, frequent charging may not be necessary. The ring is designed for all-day use and comes in three different colors – platinum silver, ceramic black, and gold. It features a concave design and a lightweight yet durable profile.
The Galaxy Ring is available in sizes 5 to 13, labeled S to XL inside the band. It includes a compact battery with a capacity ranging from 14.5mAh to 21.5mAh. The ring boasts a built-in sensor array that can track various health metrics such as heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep movement, and sleep onset time. It will also support cycle and fertility tracking through integration with the Natural Cycles app.
Samsung’s Hon Pak confirmed that the Galaxy Ring will have a battery life of 5 to 9 days on a single charge, making it a convenient and practical wearable device for health tracking and daily use.
