Iran has developed a missile with a purported range of 1,400 kilometers (870 miles), despite Western sanctions. The first version of the missile, the Fatah 1, was unveiled in June, with a newer version now including a hypersonic gliding vehicle (HGV) warhead. This addition is said to help the weapon reach top speed, reportedly reaching a speed of Mach 5-20, or 6,170-24,700 km/h. The missile was unveiled by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at the Ashura Aerospace Science and Technology University.
