According to reports in French media, an Ireland fan was allegedly gang raped in Bordeaux during the opening weekend of the Rugby World Cup. The incident is said to have taken place on Sunday night in the city centre. Police are currently searching for three men in connection with the attack. After the assault, the victim was found in the street by a group of Welsh supporters who helped her back to her accommodation. The alleged attack is said to have occurred in the Saint-Pierre district, near where she was staying. According to a police report quoted by Le Parisien, the assailants took her to rue du Puits Descazaux. The Irish police are currently working with local authorities in France to investigate the incident.
