Is Tyreek Hill’s contract with the Dolphins going to be adjusted?

It is evident that Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill is seeking a new contract, although it remains uncertain if the Dolphins will address his request. Given Hill’s status as the best player on the team and one of the top players in the NFL, it seems reasonable to assume that the Dolphins will consider it. He is currently being paid $25 million per year, which is considered low for his caliber. In 2024, he is slated to earn $19.765 million, further highlighting his desire for a new deal.

Publicly, Hill is maintaining a positive attitude, but privately, he is likely pushing for a contract that reflects his value. Questions arise about whether the Dolphins will meet his demands, given that he is 30 years old and has three years left on his current contract. Will he resort to holding out or perhaps even retiring if he doesn’t receive a new deal?

The recent contract extension given to receiver Jaylen Waddle, which pays $28.25 million per year in new money, has sparked speculation about Hill’s future contract. Could this signal a changing of the guard from Hill as the No. 1 receiver to Waddle? The Dolphins have the option to wait until next year to address Hill’s contract or even keep him for two more years before reconsidering or releasing him in 2026.

Ultimately, the Dolphins have the power to decide Hill’s fate. If they choose not to provide him with a new contract, it will be interesting to see how Hill responds. In the past, the Chiefs traded him instead of meeting his salary demands. Will Hill consider this route again if the Dolphins do not meet his expectations? Only time will tell how this situation will unfold.
