The Detroit Lions have high hopes for running back Jahmyr Gibbs in the upcoming season, but they have decided to temporarily halt his preparation for the fall. Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced at a press conference that Gibbs is currently not practicing with the team due to a soft tissue injury. While the team does not view the injury as serious, they are taking caution as these types of injuries can become prolonged without adequate rest. Given the time of year, the Lions feel that Gibbs will not miss out on much by taking a break from practice.

Running backs coach Scottie Montgomery has expressed the team’s desire for Gibbs to elevate his performance in the passing game in his second season. Despite the setback with his injury, the team is committed to helping Gibbs reach the next level once he has fully recovered. The process of improving his skills in the passing game will resume once Gibbs is cleared to return to practice.

Overall, while Gibbs may be temporarily sidelined due to his injury, the Lions remain optimistic about his potential and are dedicated to helping him develop and excel in the upcoming season. The team is focused on ensuring that Gibbs is fully healthy and prepared to make a significant impact when he returns to the field.
