Jake DeBrusk writes emotional farewell to fans as he departs from Bruins

After signing a seven-year, $38.5 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks, Jake DeBrusk has bid a heartfelt farewell to Boston fans before embarking on his new journey with his new team. The former Bruins forward, who spent seven years in Boston after being drafted in 2015, took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the fans and teammates who made his time in Boston special.

In his message, DeBrusk thanked everyone he had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know during his time in the black and gold. He expressed his appreciation for the support he received from fans and his excitement to begin this new chapter in his career with the Canucks. Despite leaving Boston, DeBrusk assured fans that the city will always hold a special place in his heart.

Throughout his time with the Bruins, DeBrusk had several standout moments that endeared him to fans. One such moment was his memorable performance in Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he scored two goals in a pivotal 7-4 victory. Another memorable moment was his stellar performance in the 2023 Winter Classic against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Fenway Park, where he netted both goals in a 2-1 win for Boston.

Fans will have the opportunity to welcome DeBrusk back to Boston when the Canucks visit TD Garden for their only regular season game on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Despite his departure, DeBrusk’s time in Boston will always be cherished by fans and teammates alike as he embarks on this new chapter in Vancouver.
