Former Seattle Seahawks safety and current free agent Jamal Adams visited the Baltimore Ravens today, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Adams was originally drafted by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft and played 46 games with them before being traded to the Seahawks in 2020. In his time with the Seahawks, Adams made three Pro Bowl teams and was a first-team All-Pro in 2019, despite battling injuries and missing games.
One question surrounding Adams is where he might fit in with the Ravens. While he has primarily played as a strong safety throughout his career, there has been speculation that he could transition to a linebacker role. With the Ravens losing Patrick Queen in free agency, Adams could potentially slot in behind Roquan Smith on the depth chart if Baltimore’s coaching staff sees a similar role for him. This connection is interesting considering that Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald previously worked under Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops and whether Adams ultimately signs with the Ravens or another team as he continues his NFL career. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
