Jayden Daniels, Commanders’ first-round pick, signs rookie deal

Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has officially reached an agreement with the Washington Commanders on his rookie deal. His four-year contract is valued at $37.75 million, with the entire amount being fully guaranteed. Additionally, Daniels will receive a $24.3 million signing bonus as part of the deal, which also includes a fifth-year option for the team.

As of now, Jayden Daniels is the highest draft pick from the Class of 2024 to have signed his contract. The Commanders are planning to have Daniels compete for the starting quarterback position, but he is expected to be the team’s eighth different Week 1 starting quarterback in as many seasons, barring any injuries.

Daniels is coming off an impressive college season at LSU, where he won the Heisman Trophy. He had an outstanding performance, completing 72.2 percent of his passes for 3,812 yards, with 40 touchdowns and only four interceptions. In addition to his passing game, Daniels also had 1,134 rushing yards and scored 10 rushing touchdowns. With his exceptional skills and achievements, the Commanders are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team in the upcoming season.
