Jessica Mathieson promoted as head of Stryker’s Medical division

Stryker (NYSE: SYK) announced this week that Jessica Mathieson has been promoted to the role of president of Medical. Mathieson previously served as the VP and GM of the company’s Acute Care division. She began her journey with Stryker in November 2008 as an account manager and has since taken on roles with increasing responsibility, including business unit director of Acute Care and sales director.

According to Andy Pierce, Stryker president of MedSurg and Neurotechnology, Mathieson has been a standout leader since joining the company in 2008. He praised her for her focus on the company’s culture and her ability to create an inclusive environment. Under her leadership, her teams have consistently delivered outstanding results, leading to significant growth and global expansion.

Stryker’s Medical division is a key part of its MedSurg and Neurotechnology business. It is the largest revenue generator within the business, which has four segments including instruments, endoscopy, and neurovascular. In 2022, the Medical division reported $3.5 billion in sales, accounting for 17% of Stryker’s total revenue. The division offers a range of products including patient handling equipment, emergency medical supplies, disposable products for intensive care, and clinical communication and workflow services.

Andy Pierce expressed his excitement for Mathieson to join the MedSurg and Neurotechnology Group Leadership Team and lead the strategy for the Medical division. He emphasized the importance of partnering with customers to deliver improved outcomes in the healthcare industry.
