Jets’ OTAs have been missed by Haason Reddick

When Haason Reddick was traded to the Jets from the Eagles in March, he expressed that he would be content regardless of what happened with his contract. However, as Reddick has not received a new contract, he has been absent from the Jets’ Organized Team Activities. Rich Cimini of ESPN reported that Reddick has not participated in any of the offseason practices open to the media, leading to speculation that his absence may be contract-related.

Although OTAs are voluntary, most players typically attend. Reddick was acquired by the Jets with the final year of the three-year contract he signed with the Eagles in 2022, which includes a $15 million salary for this season with no guaranteed money. It is understandable that Reddick would be cautious and not want to do anything to jeopardize his position on the team.

Reddick has a track record of making significant impacts in different defensive schemes, with impressive sack numbers in recent seasons. The Jets are hopeful that he can replicate that success in their defense in 2024. The team’s mandatory minicamp is scheduled to start on June 11, so it remains to be seen if Reddick will be present for that.
