John Johnson signs contract extension with Los Angeles Rams

The Rams announced today that safety John Johnson will be staying with the team, signing a new contract after being a free agent since March. Johnson, who was a third-round pick of the Rams in 2017, spent four years with the team before moving to the Browns in 2021 and 2022. He returned to the Rams in 2023 and played all 17 games with eight starts.

During his time with the Browns, Johnson admitted that he didn’t meet expectations, but he has been a solid contributor for the Rams in both of his stints with the team. Now, he will be returning for another year to continue his career with Los Angeles.

Johnson’s experience and talent will add depth to the Rams’ secondary, providing leadership and playmaking ability on defense. His familiarity with the team and his previous success make him a valuable asset as the Rams continue to improve and contend in the NFL.
