Johnny Ferraro of FlorJon Films is joining Range Sports to bring back the American Gladiators franchise. Range Sports has signed Ferraro to revitalize the reality competition series across various platforms.
They plan to work on developing American Gladiators IP for TV, film, attractions, merchandise, and live events. The goal is to introduce the brand to new audiences through multiple projects currently in active development.
Co-presidents of Range Sports, Will Funk and Greg Luckman, express their excitement to work with Johnny Ferraro in expanding the American Gladiators brand across sports, culture, and entertainment.
The original American Gladiators series ran in syndication from 1989 to 1996, pitting contestants against elite “gladiators” in TV competitions. It was revived in 2008 for NBC and recently rebooted by the BBC, receiving a quick second season pickup.
Range Media launched Range Sports in 2022 to create original sports programming, manage sports talent, properties, and intellectual property, and invest in sports content and distribution.
