Jon Rahm is currently facing a health issue as he prepares for the upcoming U.S. Open. During the second round of LIV Golf’s event at Golf Club of Houston, Rahm had to withdraw due to a left-foot infection. At the time of his withdrawal, he was even par through six holes and had scored 3 under for the tournament before exiting the event.

Prior to his withdrawal, LIV announcers had mentioned that Rahm was dealing with a cut on his foot. Cameras captured Rahm in visible pain after hitting his tee shot on the seventh hole, indicating that he was clearly struggling with some kind of injury. It raises questions about how long Rahm had been dealing with this issue.

It is worth noting that Rahm was born with a clubfoot on his right leg, but the current infection affects his left foot. The severity of the infection is unclear at this time, and it is uncertain whether it will impact Rahm’s ability to compete at Pinehurst No. 2 next week for the U.S. Open. Despite his success in major championships last year, including a win at the Masters, Rahm has faced challenges this year since moving to LIV, finishing T-45 at the Masters and missing the cut at the PGA Championship.
