Jon Stewart: Biden appeared to have a ‘Resting 25th Amendment Face’

After the debate, “The Daily Show” host went live and made jokes about Joe Biden’s performance against rival Donald Trump, 78. During the debate, Biden misspoke while defending his accomplishments in healthcare policy, claiming that his administration had “finally beat Medicare.” Trump jumped on this misstep, criticizing Biden for destroying Medicare. Host Jon Stewart made light of the situation, suggesting that it was a high-pressure moment and that Biden must have confused saving Medicare with beating it.

Stewart also pointed out that Biden seemed to struggle during the debate even when it wasn’t his turn to speak. Biden was seen grimacing, looking stunned, and with his mouth hanging open while Trump spoke. Stewart joked about this, suggesting that many people have a “resting 25th Amendment face,” a reference to the constitutional processes in case of a president’s death.

Stewart has previously called attention to the ages of both Biden and Trump. In a monologue earlier this year, he discussed their fitness for the Oval Office, noting that being the oldest individuals to ever run for president may pose some challenges. During the “Netflix is a Joke Fest” last month, Stewart joked about Biden’s age, suggesting that while Biden may have valuable contributions to society, he may not be the best choice for president.
