Last week in Milan, the capital of fashion and design, Croatian design signed by Josipa Maras won an award at the Archiproducts Design Awards for the third year in a row. This year’s winner is the Zitna polje wallpaper, which once again confirmed the dominance of the Studio brand at the top of the international design industry.
At the center of this success is Josipa Maras, a visionary and artist who signs award-winning wallpaper designs. Her passion and dedication are woven into every bit of her art and work, from personalized wallpapers that adorn homes around the world to her latest venture – a new design oasis in Zagreb.
“I am extremely proud that Žitna polje was crowned with the title for the most beautiful finish at the most prestigious design competition in Milan. They have a special place in my heart as they are a symbol of work, community and fertility of Slavonian fields. Due to their deep symbolism, they inspired me to convey to the world the story of the struggle and perseverance of the Croatian man,” said Josipa Maras, the founder of Studio Wallart.
Each wallpaper is carefully designed and painted by hand. In addition to top-quality materials and production technology, they imposed themselves on the market with personalized wallpapers and thus started a whole new industry in the world of design.
Last year, they put the entire production process under the same roof and started the first Croatian wallpaper factory. Today Studio Boutique Factory, the new business complex of the Maras family, unites all phases of wallpaper production – from conceptual concept, design, development and production.
“We have managed to position ourselves on the global market through the original values we live by every day. Today, we are present in almost twenty countries, we are growing and expanding into Western markets. Three years of winning Archiproducts Design Awards speak for themselves. This year, the excellence of Studio Design was confirmed by an expert jury made up of 40 leading experts in the world of architecture and design. The jury takes into account the concept, design, brand value, innovation, aesthetics, semantics, functionality of the product and sustainability of the product. Each member of the jury interpreted the signs of modernity in terms of aesthetics and content, thereby once again confirming that Croatia has a promising future in the world of design.
