Juan Soto, the New York Yankees’ slugger, was forced to leave Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins due to discomfort in his left forearm. He will undergo imaging on Friday to determine the extent of the injury. Yankees manager Aaron Boone stated that it was too early to determine if Soto would need to miss any playing time.

Soto explained that the discomfort in his forearm had been bothering him for about 1 1/2 to two weeks, but he had been trying to tough it out and play through the pain. The issue does not affect his ability to throw or hit, but rather causes soreness with any movement involving his arm.

During the game, Soto was removed to start the sixth inning after a rain delay, with Aaron Judge moving from left field to take over Soto’s position in right. Alex Verdugo came off the bench to play left field. The Yankees ended up winning the game, extending their winning streak to eight games.

Dr. Christopher Ahmad, the team physician, examined Soto during the rain delay. Soto mentioned that he had never experienced a similar issue with his forearm before. Despite the discomfort, he has been a key player for the Yankees this season, boasting a batting average of .318 with 17 home runs and 53 RBIs.

Teammates and fans are hoping for Soto’s speedy recovery, as his contribution has been instrumental in the Yankees’ success this season. Marcus Stroman, a pitcher for the Yankees, expressed concern for Soto and expressed positive thoughts for his recovery.
