The Thursday prep slate was filled with exciting matchups, highlighted by a baseball showdown off I-55 where Gosnell beat Rivercrest to win the 3A-3 regular season title. In other baseball action, Brookland defeated Greene County Tech, Melbourne took down Cave City, and Marked Tree emerged victorious against Maynard. Highland also secured a close win over Flippin, while Riverside defeated West Memphis and Rector beat Cross County. Midland overcame Hillcrest and Sloan-Hendrix topped White County Central. BIC claimed victories in both baseball against Pocahontas and softball against Rector.
On the softball side, Greene County Tech snapped Riverside’s 32-game winning streak with a 13-0 win, Nettleton secured wins against Paragould, and West Memphis defeated Jonesboro. Corning defeated Marmaduke, Piggott overcame Manila, and Pocahontas emerged victorious against Maynard. Walnut Ridge clinched the 3A-2 title with a win over Tuckerman in baseball, while Walnut Ridge and Tuckerman faced off in a softball matchup. Marion defeated Wynne in baseball, while Izard County beat Yellville-Summit in softball. Salem secured a close win over Melbourne, Cotter defeated Calico Rock, and McCrory emerged victorious against Conway Christian. Gosnell also recorded a win against Harrisburg in softball.
