Karen Labonte Takes on Role of Chief Nursing Officer at Unity Health

Unity Health has announced the appointment of Karen Labonte, formerly of MSN, as its new Chief Nursing Officer. Labonte will begin her duties on May 30 and will be responsible for overseeing nursing services across the Unity Health network. With over 40 years of clinical leadership experience, Labonte brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. Previously, she worked as the Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Support for Community Hospital Corporation, where she supported clinical, quality, productivity, and regulatory compliance efforts. Prior to joining corporate headquarters, she served as the CNO at a CHC-managed hospital in Cortez, Colorado.

Throughout her distinguished career, Labonte has held leadership roles in obstetrics, medical surgery, operating room, and quality. Unity Health President and CEO Mark Amox is thrilled to have Labonte join the company, calling her a great addition to the team. Labonte herself expressed gratitude and honor at being selected for the role, saying she looks forward to working with the talented Unity Health team to improve the performance, sustainability, and reputation of the health system while contributing to the community.

Unity Health operates a health system in Arkansas that includes four hospitals, thirteen family clinics, fifteen specialty physicians, and specialty clinics. With Labonte’s appointment, the company looks set to continue its dedication to excellence in healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
