Katy Perry made a statement with her bold fashion choice at Vogue World: Paris on Sunday. The former “American Idol” judge turned heads in a black cut-out archival Noir Kei Ninomiya dress that showcased her figure. The geometric dress featured soft pink and black tulle on the skirt, paired with lace-up black boot heels and sleek black hair.
During the fashion show at the Place Vendôme in Paris, Perry led a marching band and received tips on her runway walk from FKA Twigs and Cara Delevingne. In a playful Instagram video, Perry joked about only ever being a pop star and the advice she received from her fashion-forward peers.
Last week, Perry announced her upcoming single, “Woman’s World,” which is set to make its debut on July 11th. This will be followed by a new album, the successor to 2020’s “Smile.” Perry recently concluded her role as a judge on “American Idol” after seven seasons to focus on her music career.
Vogue World was a star-studded event with celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Serena Williams, Ciara, and Emma Chamberlain in attendance. The show paired different sports with specific decades in French fashion, dating all the way back to the 1920s. The runway featured performances from Bad Bunny and French singer-songwriter Aya Nakumura.
Vogue World has been previously held in New York and London, and the Paris event brought a unique fusion of fashion and athleticism to the iconic city. Perry’s edgy look stole the show, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and fans alike.
