Former Georgia Bulldogs basketball star Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has signed a three-year, $66 million contract with the Orlando Magic. Caldwell-Pope most recently played for the Denver Nuggets during the 2023-2024 NBA season, where the team was eliminated in the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Caldwell-Pope brings valuable championship experience to the Magic, having won the NBA Finals twice in his career with the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Magic, with a young core, are aiming to make a deeper run in the NBA postseason after being ousted in the first round of the 2024 playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
During his time with the Nuggets, Caldwell-Pope averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also shot an impressive 40.6% from three-point range, providing the Magic with much-needed outside shooting.
