Kettering Health Behavioral Medicine has launched an Intensive Outpatient Program at its Miamisburg location to address the mental health needs of south Dayton residents. The expansion comes as the community continues to face a mental health crisis and the need for accessible and high-quality mental health services grows.
Julie Manuel, clinical program manager at Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center, emphasized the importance of providing consistent access to mental health services. The Intensive Outpatient Program in Miamisburg aims to help patients navigate the mental health system and manage their diagnosis effectively.
The program is designed to be comprehensive and individualized, focusing on mood management, interpersonal interactions, triggers, destructive impulses and behaviors, personal goals, and coping skills. Patients will participate in group and individual sessions with trained clinicians to address their specific needs.
Mike Rabuka, administrative director of Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center, highlighted the significance of making behavioral health services easily accessible in the community. The expanded program in Miamisburg will allow for better collaboration between care teams, leading to fewer emergency visits and hospitalizations as patients navigate their behavioral health care journey.
