Kylian Mbappé has finally signed with Real Madrid, bringing together one of the world’s top soccer stars with one of the premier clubs in the sport. The 25-year-old forward reached a five-year deal with the club on a free transfer, just weeks after playing his last game with Paris Saint-Germain. This move has been anticipated for some time, as Real Madrid has made several attempts to acquire Mbappé in the past.

Mbappé, who scored 175 goals in Ligue 1 matches and won six league titles with PSG, has also achieved success at the international level by winning the 2018 World Cup with France. Despite scoring a hat trick in the 2022 World Cup final, he fell short of victory against Lionel Messi-led Argentina. In his announcement about joining Real Madrid, Mbappé shared photos from a visit to the club during his youth, one of which depicted him with Cristiano Ronaldo.

With Real Madrid, Mbappé is expected to earn $16.2 million annually after taxes. After initially turning down Real Madrid in 2017 in favor of a lucrative contract at PSG, he surprised many by extending his stay with the French club in 2022. Following his decision not to renew his contract with PSG last year, it was widely believed that Mbappé would join Real Madrid once his deal expired.

Mbappé’s final game with PSG was a 2-1 victory over Lyon in the French Cup final. He expressed a mix of emotions in an Instagram video, reflecting on his time at PSG and expressing gratitude for the opportunities he had there. Real Madrid, on the other hand, recently won its sixth European Cup title in 11 years, solidifying its place as one of the top clubs in the sport. With Mbappé now on board, the team looks poised for even more success in the future.
