The Iran consulate in Paris was the target of a potential threat on Friday when the French Police surrounded the building and apprehended a man who was reportedly threatening to blow himself up. Witnesses had seen the suspect entering the premises with what appeared to be a grenade or an explosive belt. In response to a request for assistance from the consulate, an elite police unit was promptly mobilized and the entire neighborhood in the 16th district was cordoned off to ensure the safety of the area.
