Larger companies bolster Stock Exchange index on Monday

On Monday morning, the Helsinki Stock Exchange saw a rise in numbers, but by the end of the day, it had fallen to 10,273.20 points. Despite this, the overall day was positive, with the stock market closing up by 0.28 percent. This marked the third consecutive day of gains for the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

The most traded stock on Monday was the financial company Nordea, which saw an increase of 0.44 percent in its rate. Among the most exchanged stocks, the pharmaceutical company Orion saw the biggest rise, with its price increasing by 2.53 percent to 38.43 euros. The majority of the twelve most traded stocks on Monday were on the rise, which contributed to the overall index going up.

One notable company on Monday was the telecommunication company Nokia, whose share price experienced significant fluctuations throughout the day but ultimately ended up with a 0.45 percent increase at EUR 3.607 when the stock exchange closed. Nokia’s share price was not influenced by the surge in US meme stocks.

The biggest gainer among all the companies on Monday was the component company compound, with its share price increasing by 8.53 percent to 3.29 euros. Conversely, pharmaceutical company Herantis Pharma saw the most significant decline on the Helsinki Stock Exchange, with its share falling by 10.78 percent.

Additionally, trading for composite company Exel Composites with subscription rights concluded by the end of the trading day. Exel’s share price on Monday ended at 0.56 euros, with the price of the old share at EUR 0.31 and the new shares at EUR 0.2995.

In other news, construction company YIT and private equity firm Capman announced the issuance of new green bonds. YIT’s bond is valued at EUR 100 million, with the launch date yet to be determined by the market. Capman’s bond, on the other hand, is worth EUR 60 million and is set to be issued in one week on June 10, 2024. Both companies have committed to using the funds from these bonds towards environmentally sustainable initiatives.
