Lazio recently met with Udinese to discuss the potential transfer of midfielder Lazar Samardzic ahead of the summer window. The 22-year-old Serbian player had a standout season in 2022-23 and was close to joining Inter before the deal fell through, leading him to spend another season at Udinese.
Despite attracting interest from Juventus and Napoli in the January transfer window, Samardzic remained with Udinese for the season, where he delivered six goals and two assists in 34 Serie A appearances.
According to reports from La Lazio Siamo Noi and Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio is now prepared to make an offer of around €15-16 million plus add-ons for Samardzic. While Lazio is the only Italian club currently pursuing him, there is interest from foreign clubs like Fenerbahce.
The meeting with Udinese over the weekend signals Lazio’s serious intent to secure Samardzic’s services for the upcoming season. The negotiations are expected to continue as Lazio aims to strengthen their midfield with the talented young player.
