Leapfrog Group Awards McLeod Health Hospitals with Safety Grade of A

McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon, and McLeod Health Dillon were recently awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group. This national nonprofit organization focuses on maintaining patient safety standards in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The grade recognizes the hospitals’ efforts in prioritizing patient safety and preventing harm and errors through various measures.

Dr. Caetie Rabon, Rural Regional Chief Medical Officer for McLeod Health, expressed gratitude for the recognition and attributed it to the hard work and dedication of the hospital teams. The Leapfrog Group evaluates hospitals based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and the preventive systems in place.

McLeod Health Cheraw has received the “A” Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog for the fourth consecutive time. Brent Lowe, CEO of McLeod Health Cheraw, emphasized the staff’s commitment to implementing best patient practices. Rachel Gainey, CEO of McLeod Health Clarendon, also highlighted the unwavering dedication of the staff in upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
