This weekend, NBA superstar LeBron James, along with former NBA player Carmelo Anthony, made their way to Kansas City to watch LeBron’s son Bryce James and his Strive For Greatness (SFG) AAU team compete in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Session 4 at Hy-Vee Arena. The two basketball icons were seen greeting each other, as they are no strangers to Kansas City, often visiting for tournaments and games.
LeBron has played exhibitions in Kansas City in the past when he was with the Miami Heat, and the EYBL tournament brings him and his children back to the area regularly. The tournament features some of the top high school basketball players in the country, providing fans with an opportunity to see some top-level competition for an entry fee of $15.
Alongside LeBron, Carmelo Anthony was also coaching his team, Team Melo, throughout the weekend. The tournament runs through Monday on Memorial Day weekend, offering basketball fans in Kansas City a chance to see some of their favorite NBA stars up close.
