Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 Presents World Premiere of Phillip Howze’s Six Characters

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 has announced the world premiere of Phillip Howze’s Six Characters as part of its upcoming season. The performances will begin on July 13 at the Claire Tow Theater Off-Broadway, with an opening night set for July 29 and a limited engagement through August 25. The production will be directed by Dustin Wills.

Six Characters is a play that explores themes of power, belonging, and the institutions we create. The story follows a group of individuals who take over a prestigious cultural center and cause chaos. The cast will include CG, Will Cobbs, Seven F. B. Duncombe, Claudia Logan, Julian Robertson, and Seret Scott.

The production will feature scenic design by Dustin Wills, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Masha Tsimring, and sound design by Christopher Darbassie. Victoria Whooper will be the stage manager for the show.

In addition to Six Characters, Lincoln Center Theater is currently presenting a Broadway revival of Uncle Vanya starring Steve Carell, running through June 16. Off-Broadway, The Bengsons’ The Keep Going Songs is playing through May 26. Later this fall, the company will premiere Ayad Akhtar’s MCNEAL on Broadway, featuring Robert Downey Jr. in his Broadway debut.
