For many top performers in the game of softball, Little League Softball® is where their passion for the game first sparked. This year, over 25 Division I collegiate athletes, who got their start on Little League® diamonds, will compete in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with the goal of taking home the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) trophy in 2023.
Among the athletes competing in this year’s tournament are former runners-up and champions of the Little League Softball World Series (LLSWS), as well as inductees of the 2019 Little League Hall of Fame. Some notable players representing various regions include Alex Salter from San Carlos LL (Fort Myers, FL), Ari Dubois from Torrington (CT) Softball LL, Kathryn Thundercock from McLean, Virginia LL (2013 LLSWS Champion), and Heather Tarr, Head Coach from Kirkland, WA LL and Redmond, WA LL (2019 LL Hall of Excellence).
Over the years, many graduates of the Little League Softball World Series have gone on to play in the Women’s Collegiate World Series, as well as the Athletes Unlimited Softball league. Little League invites individuals to submit notable Little League alumni to add to their list of accredited players.
