On February 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. ET, those watching the Super Bowl with kids may be interested in trying the Nickelodeon broadcast. It will be a fun experience for football’s youngest fans, as they will be able to watch an alternative telecast of Super Bowl LVIII announced by SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends from Bikini Bottom.
The Nickelodeon and CBS Sports announced the unprecedented alternate telecast for the Super Bowl, which will air on the kid’s television channel. The broadcast will coincide with the game played by the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas. It is important to note that the parent company of both CBS Sports and Nickelodeon is Paramount Global.
The telecast will combine animation and graphics with a traditional game-day telecast. The popular characters from the cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants will join the telecast live. The animated Sandy Cheeks, voiced by Carolyn Lawrence, is seen in the promotional photos on the sidelines of a real-life football field.
The game will be called by SpongeBob SquarePants, voiced by Tom Kenny, and Patrick Star, voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. They will be joined by human CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle. In addition, Larry the Lobster, voiced by Mr. Lawrence, will provide live commentary.
Keep in mind that Nickelodeon has been airing “NFL Slimetime” since 2021, a weekly show hosted by Burleson and child actor Dylan Gilmore. The duo will be reporting live from Allegiant Stadium. This Super Bowl broadcast is an interactive experience that combines both football and fun, making it an unforgettable event for both kids and sports fans.
