Police responded to a “mental health issue” at a hotel in west suburban Aurora, prompting guests to stay in their rooms on Friday morning. The incident occurred at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aurora – Naperville on 111 N. Broadway Ave. Cell phone footage captured several Aurora police vehicles in the hotel parking lot, with at least one officer carrying a riot shield and assault rifle.

Guests staying at the hotel were instructed to remain in their rooms during the police response. Police later confirmed that the “mental health issue” had been peacefully resolved by 11 a.m., with no guns fired during the situation.
