Longtime Philadelphia broadcaster Howard Eskin banned from Citizens Bank Park following unwanted advance

Howard Eskin, a well-known Philadelphia sports radio broadcaster, has been banned from Citizens Bank Park until the end of the Philadelphia Phillies’ season due to an incident involving an unwelcome advance toward an Aramark employee. The employee reported that Eskin, 73, had given her an unwanted kiss at the ballpark in May, prompting an investigation by Aramark, the food service provider for the stadium.

Aramark confirmed the employee’s allegations and worked with Audacy, Eskin’s employer, and the Phillies to ensure the safety and protection of all Aramark employees at the ballpark. Audacy conducted its own investigation, acknowledged the incident, and took action to address the matter. The Phillies expressed their support for Audacy’s decision to suspend Eskin from Citizens Bank Park.

Despite the ban from the ballpark, Eskin will continue to appear on-air for his regular radio show. Known for his outspoken personality, Eskin has been a fixture in Philadelphia sports media since the mid-1980s, when he joined WIP, the city’s leading sports radio station. He has hosted thousands of sports radio programs and is a familiar voice to Eagles fans as a reporter for the team’s broadcasts.

Eskin’s future on WIP remains unclear, but he has continued to host his radio show on Saturdays since the incident occurred. The broadcaster has not commented publicly on the situation following the news of his suspension from Citizens Bank Park.
