LSU’s Bowl Game Destination in 2024 Predicted by Athlon

The College Football Playoff format will expand to include 12 teams in 2024, marking a significant change in the postseason structure. With this expansion, LSU has a better chance to return to the CFP for the first time since 2019. All New Year’s Six games are now part of the playoff structure, which has a direct impact on bowl projections as we head into the 2024 season. Athlon Sports’ preseason preview magazine provides projections for each bowl game, and LSU is predicted to land in the Gator Bowl, facing Miami in what some may consider a disappointing spot.

The Tigers have only played in the Gator Bowl once before, securing a win over South Carolina in 1987. LSU will aim to defy these rankings and earn a spot in the initial 12-team playoff field, but they face challenges with many key positions needing to be filled on both offense and defense. Despite the uncertainties, LSU will look to overcome the odds and make a strong showing in the upcoming season.
