French President Emmanuel Macron will hold a press conference at 11am this morning to reveal his battle plan following the debacle in the European elections, according to Bfmtv. Macron had promised to address his fellow citizens shortly before the announcement of early legislative elections.

Macron has ruled out resigning from the presidency of the Republic, regardless of the result of the legislative elections scheduled for June 30 and July 7. He emphasized this point in an interview with Figaro Magazine, in response to speculation that Rassemblement National could demand his resignation if they were to win the elections.

In his interview, Macron expressed his faith in the French people’s ability to make the right choice for themselves and future generations. He stated that his only ambition is to be useful to the country he loves.

Following the electoral defeat of his majority in the European elections and the far-right’s overwhelming victory, Macron faces a challenging political landscape. Pro-European parties in France now represent a minority of voters, while Eurosceptic parties on the right and left have gained significant support. This is the first time since 1979 that pro-European parties have been in the minority in France in the European elections.
